North Forty Design Service, Inc. was founded in 2002 by Dr Linda Wall and Craig Talmy, in Malibou Lake next to Paramount Ranch, the nearest shooting backlot to Hollywood. They are Hollywood industrial artists, specialties are in motion graphics, film visual effect productions, animation direct and lately in imaging and lighting for virtual production LED Volume soundstages. The husband-wife team is a co-founder of StudioX, created and resource-gathered for the Fusion of Education and Visual Production.

Lead Lecturer: Dr. Linda Wall is an international designer who began her career in Italy in the 1980s doing work for Artemide and Campari. The excitement in Europe for technological innovation (e.g., the birth of Macintosh, Pagemaker, the laser printer, hypercard and Photoshop) led Linda back to the United States to get advanced degrees in computer graphics and ultimately a PhD in environmental analysis and design with a specialization in virtual environments.

Depth of Knowledge: She has been fortunate to live and work in two very diverse fields. The first being the academic world of theory and research, mentoring students through teaching and research projects. The second being the commercial world of media production, initially being a designer and motion graphics artist, and ultimately leading teams of artists in production work.

Theory and Research: Linda works on the conceptualization and research in how people navigate virtual environments and how they interact, and in turn, impact physically-based environments. This includes studies in:  human-computer interaction, sociology of information, and the social analysis of technological systems. This has ultimately led to her conservation and charity work in environmental preservation and behavior modification through technology.

Practices: Dr. Wall and Talmy taught in UCLA Extension and Pepperdine University for a total of 10+ years, teaching Motion Graphics design, production and implementation, developed dedicated curriculums and produced on-line and f2f instructional contents.
